Project Coordinator Volunteer

Cinema for Peace Foundation is looking for volunteers to join our team in Berlin. Since 9/11 the Cinema for Peace initiative has been focusing on the perception and resolution of global social, political, and humanitarian challenges. In recent years Cinema for Peace has supported humanitarian causes with the likes of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and public figures such as the Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the former Honorary Patron Nelson Mandela.

Tasks:

● Film Screenings: Reaching out to strategic and funding partners in G20 countries to organize monthly film screenings and panel discussions and executing the said film screenings by liaising with partners, panelists, venues, and film distributors.

● Fundraising: Supporting the Cinema for Peace fundraising initiatives through funding organizations, high-level fundraiser events, auctions, membership programs, or artists and gallery relations.

● Communications: Support in Cinema for Peace Communications Strategy by drafting, posting, and reporting on social media posts on different social media platforms, as well as through support in public relations management.

● Campaigns: Support in conception and execution of Cinema for Peace Campaigns for human rights, democracy, and peace in the world using the medium of films.

● Film Selection: Support in Selecting and curating films for Cinema for Peace screenings, film festivals, as well as for Cinema for Peace Awards.

● Artists and gallery relations: Liaise with artists, galleries, and art collectors to acquire donations of artworks and experiences for fundraising and public relations purposes.

● Event Management: Organising high-level Advocacy events across the globe, and specifically in Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Mykonos, and St. Tropez.

● Special Projects: Supporting the Management of Cinema for Peace special projects.

● Support in general administration, management of mailing and guest lists, desk research, news, and conflict monitoring, and any other support needed for the team.

The ideal candidate would have:

● Educational qualifications in Film, Human Rights, International Relations, International Law, Project Management, or related fields.

● A passion and interest for topics related to films, art, international conflicts, human rights, climate change, and other socio-political and humanitarian issues.

● Prior experience working in an international organization, non-governmental organization, civil society organization, or a film-related organization.

● Specific prior experience in at least 3 main fields mentioned under ‘tasks’ is required.

● Excellent written and spoken fluency in English is required. Other languages, especially German is an advantage.

● Proactive, ability to think outside the box, willingness to go the extra mile, and a problem-solving attitude.

● Lives in Berlin.

This volunteer position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 18:00.
Remuneration for this position is 520 euros + BVG ticket.
