20 Years Since 9/11: Free Film Screening And Panel Discussion
Cinema for Peace Foundation cordially invites you to a film screening and panel discussion tomorrow at 12:00 pm, organized in cooperation with Gebrueder Beetz Filmproduktion and ZDFinfo, marking the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. The film and the panel discussions will be in English, open to the public, and free of cost.

Film: Ghosts of Afghanistan (2021) by Julian Sher
Plot: The war has raged in Afghanistan for 20 years and has killed hundreds of thousands of people. Now the US has decided to withdraw its troops. But there is chaos in Afghanistan (trailer below).
Panelists:
Graeme Smith - Emmy Award-winning journalist and researcher. He worked as a political affairs officer for the United Nations in Afghanistan from 2015 to 2018. He was previously a senior analyst for the International Crisis Group. The documentary ghosts of Afghanistan is based on his research.
Zarifa Ghafari - Youngest and First Female Mayor of Afghanistan (Maidan Shar ), Survivor of 3 assassination attempts. She is known for her efforts to advance women's rights in Afghanistan. Zarifa was chosen as an International Woman of Courage in 2020 by the US Secretary of State. Currently exiled in Germany with her family.
Sahra Karimi - The first female chairperson of the Afghan Film Organisation. She is the first and the only woman in Afghanistan who has a Ph.D. in cinema and filmmaking. (via Zoom)
Mariam Wardak - Co-Founder of Her Afghanistan, senior adviser to two Afghan National Security Advisors of President Ghani Administration. Mariam was one of the few core members to develop Afghanistan's strategy for Counter Violent Extremism and social media. (via Zoom)
